Hanoi Autumn Festival 2026: A Celebration in the Capital’s Most Beautiful Season

05/10/20262 min read

From October 16–18, 2026, the Hanoi Autumn Festival returns under the theme “Hanoi Autumn – A Journey of Emotions”, bringing together the city’s heritage, traditional crafts, cuisine, tourism and arts during one of the most beautiful times of the year.

When is the Hanoi Autumn Festival 2026?

The Hanoi Autumn Festival 2026 will take place over three days, from October 16 to 18, 2026.

The dates have been rescheduled from the original September 25–27 plan, while the festival’s main programme and activities remain unchanged.

Covering approximately 5,000 square metres, the festival features exhibition and experience zones, performance stages, installations and other spaces dedicated to Hanoi’s culture and tourism.

More than a seasonal celebration, the festival presents Hanoi through its heritage, local communities, traditional craftsmanship and everyday life – all set against the distinctive atmosphere of autumn in the capital.

Experience Autumn in Hanoi

This year’s festival is organised around nine themed experience zones, connecting heritage, traditional craft villages, local cuisine, arts and tourism.

Visitors can rediscover scenes of old Hanoi, learn about traditional crafts, taste familiar local dishes and take part in cultural activities throughout the three-day event.

Start with the Heritage Zone, where familiar images of old Hanoi are recreated through a combination of architecture and technology.

Continue to the Traditional Craft Village Zone, where visitors can discover skills and techniques that have been passed down through generations.

Then comes the Hanoi Cuisine Zone, where the flavours of autumn take centre stage through com (young green rice), lotus tea and some of the capital’s most familiar dishes.

For families travelling with children, art exhibitions, creative workshops and traditional folk games also offer plenty of opportunities to experience Hanoi’s culture in a more interactive way.

Beyond the Festival: Hanoi Autumn Run and Community Activities

The Hanoi Autumn Festival 2026 extends beyond its main exhibition grounds.

The programme includes cultural experiences at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, alongside the Hanoi Autumn Run and community activities combining running with environmental awareness and clean-up initiatives.

These activities bring another dimension to the festival, connecting Hanoi’s autumn tourism with community participation and a more sustainable way of experiencing the city.
